Postpartum Doula Services

Why hire a pro?

You’ll be learning a lot of new things; how to navigate the maternity care system, the physiology of pregnancy, childbirth & lactation; How this new chapter changes your relationship with yourself, your partner and community; How to feed your baby, establish routines with a newborn, what products to purchase and so much more!

Parenthood is truly a profound journey.

Weather you find parenthood to be a learning curve or you are a seasoned caregiver expecting baby #2, #3 or #4, a postpartum professional trained to nurture the mother-baby dyad may be extremely beneficial to the health & wellbeing of your family unit.

Having the compassionate care and guidance of a maternal-support practitioner during those tender first weeks and months can ease the transition, promote healing, and help create a calm, supportive space where beautiful memories can take root.

Doula does not:

  • Perform clinical tasks

  • Take over the care of the newborn. A parent or family member must be home

  • Drive clients

  • Walks dogs

  • Heavy house cleaning tasks

  • Advance cash

Depending on the doula’s availability, choose between an overnight and day shift schedule from below. The schedules below are the MINIMUM amounts of time the doula will retain their services for a family.

Overnight schedule:

  • Minimum 108hrs total

  • 9hr shifts

  • 3x/wk for 1 month

  • Monday, Wednesday, & Friday ($8,100 - $10,800)

  • 9p - 6a (9hrs)

Day shift schedule:

  • Minimum 72hrs total

  • 6hr shifts

  • 3x/wk for 1 month

  • 8a - 2p (6hrs)

Postpartum spa treatment:

  • Herbal foot soak with mini neck, shoulder, and foot massage included 1x/week provided within the hours of your postpartum doula schedule.

Conditions:

  • Postpartum services can be canceled at anytime

  • If a family cancels within 2 months of their EDD, the retainer fee is non-refundable. This is because the doula has blocked off their calendar and declined work from inquiring families.

Moving forward:

  • Set up a 30-minute chat to match with a doula who is available

  • Lock in a schedule

  • Discuss which day you’d like postpartum services to start (first OR second day home from birth center/hospital)

  • Review & sign contract

  • Send retainer fee of half the amount of the contract in order to reserve the doula’s time

  • Meet & greet (optional)

  • Inform doula when labor begins and when you will be coming home from the birth center/hospital

  • Note: The first week of services will look different than the planned schedule due to the spontaneous nature of birth and the unpredictable day you will come home from the birth facility

  • Reminder: Birth-work is a fluid and flexible lifestyle which means the maternal-support practitioner could be on-call for a birth or working with another postpartum family. In these circumstances, there may be a temporary interruption in the postpartum schedule if the birth professional is called to a birth or if two different postpartum contracts overlap. Any hour’s missed would be credited to another week.
